Through a tripartite effort by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), the Government of Germany, through KfW, and the European Union, known as the DINAMICA II Initiative, the Technological University of El Salvador (UTEC) shared the achievements of the project “Strengthening the Innovation support Office – G’NIUS for the creation of technology-based entrepreneurships”.
This project was made possible thanks to non-reimbursable technical assistance in the amount of US$53,000.00, resources allocated to stimulate the innovation ecosystem, promote technological entrepreneurship, and bring academics closer to the country's productive sector.
The resources granted were used to develop a diagnostic of the G'NIUS office to assess the status and opportunities of the innovation ecosystem linked to UTEC, as well as to create networks of entrepreneurs, mentors, and companies committed to innovation, integrating around 57 beneficiaries. Similarly, a computer platform was developed that will serve for communication, monitoring, and automation of support to the networks.
Reflecting on the impact of the initiative, Adrián Castillo, one of the beneficiaries, mentioned that as a young entrepreneur, the G´NIUS platform will allow him to exchange experiences with other entrepreneurs and access more information and advice to strengthen his startup, which focuses on digital content development.
To publicize the results of the project, an event was held to present the achievements, which helped to forge alliances to promote a culture of innovation in the academic and business environments. This effort opens up new opportunities for those who wish to transform ideas and create a supportive community to implement real solutions with social and economic impact.
All of this is in line with the purpose of the DINAMICA II Initiative, a tripartite effort by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), the Government of Germany, through KfW, and the European Union, which seeks to contribute to economic development and job creation in Central America by strengthening the business ecosystem for new, young, and innovative MSMEs, as well as promoting adequate access to financial services.
