LAGreen Fund Announces Landmark Participation in Vinte’s Green Bond Issuance

Article originally published on LAGreen's website on 09/07/2025. The European Union through LACIF contributes to the LAGreen Fund through financial instruments and technical assistance.
The LAGreen Fund is excited to announce its participation in Vinte Viviendas Integrales, S.A.B. de C.V.’s (“Vinte”) senior unsecured green bond VINTE 25-2V, aligned with ICMA Green Bond Principles, with an investment of MXN 184.7 million, equivalent to approximately USD 10 million. This bond marks LAGreen’s first involvement in a primary market corporate bond issuance.
This bond underscores Vinte’s position as the world’s leading EDGE houses developer, supporting climate-aligned housing solutions through EDGE-certified projects. The proceeds will fund the development of EDGE and EDGE Advanced certified homes, contributing to significant environmental impact through avoided CO2 emissions, energy savings, and water usage reduction.
LAGreen’s participation features a 7-year tranche in the local Mexican capital market. The total transaction amounted to MXN 2.5 billion (equivalent to approximately USD 130 million), in two tranches (VINTE 25V for 1.4 billion and VINTE 25-2V for 1.1 billion), was oversubscribed by 1.3x, and had BBVA and Actinver as bookrunners. Besides its anchor investor role, LAGreen also plans to provide advisory and capacity building to enhance Vinte’s data quality for impact measurement and sustainability reporting, exploring innovative approaches to quantify housing affordability and environmental performance.
“We are proud to support Vinte’s landmark green bond issuance—our first participation in a primary market corporate bond. This collaboration reflects LAGreen’s commitment to catalyzing sustainable finance in Latin America by backing innovative issuers with strong environmental impact. Vinte’s focus on EDGE-certified housing aligns perfectly with our mission to drive climate resilience and social inclusion through capital markets.”-Myriel Frische, Portfolio Manager, LAGreen Fund.
“LAGreen played a key role in Vinte’s Green Bonds issuance, supporting Vinte on strengthening its new Bond Framework in accordance with ICMA standards focused on Green & SDGs impact reporting indicators. While Vinte had issued 6 Sustainability Bonds (Green & Social) since 2018 and until 2024, the bonds issuance in June 2025 for VINTE 25V and VINTE 25-2V, represents Vinte’s first Green Bonds, with participation of local and international investors , including LAGreen. Proceeds will contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, primarily Clean Water (SDG 6), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12).” – Domingo Valdés, Vinte’s CFO and Board Member.
Álvaro Vaqueiro, Head of Corporate & Investment Banking at BBVA Mexico, commented: “At BBVA, we are proud to have worked alongside LAGreen and Vinte in the development of a robust framework that enabled this landmark green bond issuance in Mexico. This transaction reflects the growing interest of local and international investors in financing projects that drive positive environmental and social impact in Latin America. Our Debt & Sustainability Advisory team played a key role in structuring this solution, in line with BBVA’s strategic commitment to sustainability as a core lever for growth. We aim to support our clients in their transition journeys through innovative financing and expert guidance.
