A total of 108 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama will receive training in energy efficiency, green financing, and cleaner production thanks to the Capacity Development Program for MSMEs, with support from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), the Government of Germany through KfW, and the European Union through the Green MSMEs II Initiative, which was launched on Wednesday by the Central American Institute of Public Administration (ICAP).
The program aims to strengthen the productive sector's capacity in the region to face the challenges of energy transition and promote sustainable practices in MSMEs' operations through three specialized seminars, access to energy diagnostics, and recognition of the most outstanding proposals per country in each seminar.
MSMEs that successfully complete the program will receive a diploma in energy efficiency, green financing, and cleaner production from ICAP, in addition to other benefits that will enable them to improve their competitiveness and sustainability.
The launch of the program was attended by representatives of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), the European Union Delegation in Costa Rica, and ICAP, who reaffirmed their commitment to sustainability and inclusive economic development in the region.
