This new video (in Spanish) shows some of the key environmental achievements made in this Argentine province, with support from the European Union through LACIF.

Produced by Jujuy’s Environment and Climate Change Ministry, this video presents key achievements made by the Jujuy Integrated Waste Management Project, including:

  • For the first time, the province considered the environment as a cross-sectoral state policy and developed a strategic plan to ensure recyclable waste re-enters the circular economy.
  • More than 13 million dollars were invested in the purchase of 66 compactor trucks, 730 separation containers and more than 80,000 containers, which have been distributed to institutions and public and private buildings and spaces, events and schools.
  • 44 municipalities have received support for waste management, including for the closure of garbage dumps and job creation.
  • Currently, about 6% of the waste generated in Jujuy is recovered.
