Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID)


The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) is committed to combating poverty and promoting sustainable human development. AECID, committed to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focuses on three main crosscutting elements: gender perspective, environmental quality, and respect for cultural diversity.

LACIF and AECID have worked together across Latin America and the Caribbean since 2011, developing projects in areas such as:

  • water supply & sanitation;
  • agriculture, forestry, fishing;
  • transport;
  • energy; and
  • urban & rural development.
